Amy Flaum - Development Associate
Amy Flaum is a Hawthorne Valley Association Development Associate and also works closely with the school doing many administrative duties. She has worked with the association for six years. This year she served as the girls’ volleyball coach. Amy is a Hawthorne Valley School alum, and earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Springfield College. Recent hobbies include growing giant pumpkins and volleyball.

Hannah Shepard - Administrative Assistant
Hannah first worked at Hawthorne Valley Farm in 2005 as a camp counselor. She worked for the New York City Greenmarket in 2006 before finishing her degree and going on to work for the non-profit Just Food and the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, both in New York City. She now assists with archiving materials and planning events at Hawthorne Valley Association.
Hilary Corsun - Director of Marketing and Communication
Hilary began working at Hawthorne Valley in 2007 on a range of projects. She graduated from Cornell University in 2006 with a double major in Applied Economics & Management and Animal Science. She has served as Purchasing Manager in her family's manufacturing business, worked at a microfinance finance fund in Senegal, and operated a dog boarding business for ten years. She enjoys cycling, ultimate frisbee, working outdoors, and snowshoeing in winter.
Irene Davis - Administrative Assistant
Irene has assisted in the Finance Office at Hawthorne Valley since 2008. She manages payroll and accounts receivable, among many other tasks. Prior to joining Hawthorne Valley, Irene worked at Stan Martin Ford for 17 years. She has lived in Columbia County since 2001 and enjoys taking her dog for walks, riding her motorcycle, and knitting.
Marilyn Oneil - Administrative Assistant
Marilyn joined Hawthorne Valley in September of 2008. Most recently, she has been assisting in the Finance Office, attending to accounts payable. She is passionate about organic and humane farming practices and greatly enjoys working for an organization that holds those values. Her ardor for life is fueled most by her interest in human development and the expansion of consciousness.
Martin Ping
Martin has been at Hawthorne Valley for more than 20 years. He taught practical arts in the High School, served as Director of Facilities for 14 years, and managed several multi-million dollar construction projects. For the past eight years as Executive Director, Martin has balanced his time developing the synergies amongst the Association’s diverse enterprises and the 150 co-workers who carry those initiatives while cultivating collaborative relationships between Hawthorne Valley and other organizations in the Upper Hudson Valley/Berkshire region as well as like-minded initiatives nationally and globally. He is co-founder and storyteller for The Magical Puppet Tree Theater, a founding member of the Slow Money Alliance, and has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations.
